Govardhan | Road 2 Mathura; R2M.

Govardhan is actually a place named for a mountain named Govardhan; which has it’s own importance because once Lord Krishna picked it up in air on his little finger to save all the people of Govardhan from the enourmous raining.

-The Raining Caused due to Giriraj Poojan done by villagers there expecting Rain will fall after Giriraj Poojan suggested by Deity Krishna.

Now it is tradition to “Parikrama” around the Goverdhan Mountain which is in 21 kms of area. This Govardhan Parikrama is use to carry by walking bare foot to 21 kms all around Govardhan mountain.

There are a lot of beautiful temples in way to Govardhan-Parikrama which all have their beauty and sounds very relaxing.

-An interesting fact about Govardhan Mountain is that it is descending in ground about a few millimeters day by day and supposed to disappear after end of “Kalayuga” (An age of downfall” 4th & last period of world development according to Hindu Scriptures)
(However the downfall in height of Govardhan Mountain have it Mythological existence whereas no actual scientific or archeological fact proves that)

A Fairy Song

Over hill, over dale,
Thorough bush, thorough brier,
Over park, over pale,
Thorough flood, thorough fire!
I do wander everywhere,
Swifter than the moon’s sphere;
And I serve the Fairy Queen,
To dew her orbs upon the green;
The cowslips tall her pensioners be;
In their gold coats spots you see;
Those be rubies, fairy favours;
In those freckles live their savours;
I must go seek some dewdrops here,
And hang a pearl in every cowslip’s ear.

– William Shakespeare
